Case Studies


K1 Speed is the world's leading indoor go-karting company. Their all-electric go-karts and state-of-the-art centers have thrilled racers since 2003. There are 30 K1 Speed corporate-owned locations in the United States and a U.S. franchise division that includes four new locations coming soon. There are also eight international franchise locations in operation across six countries and six more international franchise locations in development coming soon.

On January 7th, Bastion Rare closed two deals with K1 Speed. The first deal was to take over management of K1 Speed’s $2.5M USD annual digital marketing (PPC) budget. The second deal was to perform a detailed analysis and audit of the K1 Speed SEO strategy and advise on best practices and recommendations for the in-house team at K1 to implement and maintain.


THE CHALLENGE - According to a Sage SMB Hiring Outlook Survey, a freeze in product and service demand throughout the small business community contributed to a fragile hiring state in 2013. As a strong advocate of their customers, Sage saw this as an opportunity to take action and connect with their clientele through an internal customer relationship roadshow. Sage commissioned Bastion Elevate to create such a campaign that would help entice consumers to shop locally, in return, restoring the need for demand.

To demonstrate the impact small businesses have on the economy, Bastion Elevate developed the Sage Listens RV Relay Tour, a nationwide campaign encouraging consumers to shop locally. The “Shop Local’’ campaign encouraged consumers to support their local business and help increase revenues by spending their money in their communities. In addition, more than 30 of Sage’s executives used this time on the road to personally meet Sage customers and business partners to better understand their goals and struggles, while educating them on maximizing their software investments to better their businesses.

This resulted in over 362 unique pieces of coverage during the Sage RV Tour, including broadcast segments that aired over 164 times during the tour, bringing attention to the fact that Sage North America supported small business.

Avalara hired Bastion Elevate to help promote their lodging tax regulation and compliance unit. Knowing our team has an expertise in creating thought leaders in specific industries, they hired us.

Bastion Elevate organized media tracking and outreach to position Avalara MyLodgeTax and its spokespeople as resources for stories around the following subjects to drive net-new customers: Trends and changes in the vacation rental industry Regulatory and lodging tax/compliance changes in local markets across the country.
